Job Title: Sales Executive – Joinery
Job Purpose
The Sales Executive – Joinery Division is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and selling tailored joinery solutions that meet customer needs and project requirements. The role involves client consultations, site measurements (where required), proposal and quotation preparation, presenting finishes and material options, negotiating contracts, and ensuring a smooth customer experience through delivery and installation. Success in this role requires strong consultative selling skills, the ability to interpret client briefs, attention to detail, and consistent achievement of sales targets.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Business Development and Client Acquisition
- Identify and pursue new B2B and B2C opportunities for joinery products (e.g., kitchens, wardrobes, TV units, vanities, wall paneling, doors, cabinetry, and custom storage).
- Build a strong sales pipeline through networking, referrals, cold calling, digital leads, walk-ins, and partnerships.
- Develop and maintain relationships with architects, interior designers, quantity surveyors, contractors, project managers, and procurement teams.
- Conduct market research to track trends in finishes, hardware, materials, and competitor offerings/pricing.
- Develop target account plans for key developers, contractors, and corporate clients and execute structured follow-ups.
Sales Strategy and Execution
- Develop and execute sales plans to achieve monthly and quarterly revenue targets and gross margin objectives.
- Conduct client consultations to understand functional requirements, design style, timelines, budgets, and site conditions.
- Coordinate site visits, measurements, and technical assessments in collaboration with the design/technical team.
- Present joinery solutions, material samples, finishes, and hardware options aligned to client preferences and budget.
- Prepare and present proposals, drawings/mock-ups (where applicable), quotations, and pricing breakdowns.
- Negotiate contracts including scope, pricing, lead times, installation timelines, and payment terms.
- Close sales through confident objection handling, relationship building, and clear communication.
Account Management and Client Retention
- Maintain long-term relationships with clients through proactive communication and professional after-sales support.
- Conduct follow-ups to confirm satisfaction and coordinate rectification where needed (snag lists, adjustments, replacements).
- Upsell and cross-sell complementary solutions (e.g., countertops, fittings, accessories, appliances integration, soft-close hardware upgrades, additional cabinetry).
- Encourage repeat business and referrals by delivering an exceptional client experience.
Project Coordination and Customer Experience
- Work closely with design and production teams to ensure client requirements are captured correctly and translated into accurate job cards and production specifications.
- Coordinate with factory/production planning to align timelines and manage client expectations professionally.
- Liaise with installation teams and logistics to plan deliveries, access requirements, site readiness, and installation schedules.
- Ensure proper documentation is completed (client approvals, material sign-offs, variation orders, handover forms).
Reporting and Analysis
- Maintain accurate records of leads, client interactions, quotations, and pipeline updates in the CRM system or sales tracker.
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports highlighting pipeline status, conversions, revenue performance, and key risks.
- Track key sales metrics (lead source performance, quotation-to-sale conversion, average deal value, margin performance).
- Provide client and market feedback to management to guide product improvements, pricing strategies, and process enhancements.
Marketing and Brand Promotion
- Represent Furniture International professionally as a brand ambassador, showcasing quality craftsmanship and service excellence.
- Participate in showroom activations, exhibitions, open days, and partner events to generate leads.
- Work with marketing to develop joinery-focused content, case studies, and project showcases for digital promotion.
Collaboration and Teamwork
- Collaborate with design, production, and procurement teams to ensure feasibility, availability of materials, and cost accuracy.
- Coordinate with finance to ensure timely invoicing, collections follow-up, and compliance with payment terms.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer experience, reduce delays, and improve quality outcomes.
Ad Hoc Tasks
- Participate in special projects, product launches, and strategic initiatives as required.
Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications Required
- Degree/Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Interior Design, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 2–4 years’ experience in sales/business development in joinery, interiors, furniture, construction finishing, or related building solutions.
- Strong understanding of joinery products, materials (e.g., MDF, plywood, solid wood, laminates/veneers), finishes, and hardware (hinges, runners, accessories).
- Ability to interpret drawings/briefs and translate them into practical product solutions and quotations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CRM experience is an added advantage.
