About the Company

We are a growing car rental and mobility company in Nairobi, providing reliable vehicle rental and chauffeur-driven mobility solutions to individual and corporate clients. As the business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Fleet & Operations Manager to take ownership of fleet operations, utilisation, maintenance, compliance, customer readiness, and the development of a strong operational team. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can build efficient systems, improve accountability, and drive operational performance.

Budget: KSH 200,000 Gross + Performance Bonus

Roles & Responsibilities.

  • Fleet availability and utilisation — the daily fleet position, allocation against bookings, and the elimination of idle days.
  • Telematics and vehicle tracking — full live coverage across the fleet, driver behaviour and geofence monitoring, theft response, and decisions driven by tracking data rather than estimates.
  • Vehicle readiness and handover — every car leaving clean, fuelled, roadworthy and fully documented at both ends of the rental.
  • Maintenance and downtime — preventive servicing, workshop turnaround, repair cost control and 24/7 breakdown response.
  • Toll cards and traffic fines — card issuance and reconciliation, NTSA and TIMS fine monitoring, settlement within deadline, and full recharge to the responsible driver or renter.
  • Damage, claims and recovery — chargeable damage evidenced, charged and recovered, and insurance claims run to settlement.
  • Compliance and risk — insurance, inspections, licences and driver standards, with nothing lapsed.
  • Building the team — assessing what the operation genuinely needs, proposing the structure, then recruiting, training and developing the people to run it

Key Requirements

  • Degree or higher diploma in Business, Logistics, Transport Management or a related field.
  • 5+ years in fleet, transport or vehicle-based operations, including 2+ years managing a team.
  • Hands-on experience running a telematics or vehicle tracking platform and acting on its data.
  • A record of building and developing an operational team.
  • Working knowledge of Kenyan transport compliance, insurance, NTSA/TIMS and toll systems.
  • Car rental, leasing or chauffeur-drive experience is a distinct advantage
