Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Direct reports: Team of Investment Analysts (1 Senior Analyst, 2 Junior Analysts)

Role Overview:

The Head of Investments leads the investment function of the Family Office, with end-to-end responsibility for the construction, management, and oversight of a multi-asset portfolio. The role spans public as well as private markets, executed both through direct investments and through external managers (funds, co-investments, and secondaries). The successful candidate will combine institutional-grade investment discipline with the agility and discretion expected in a family office environment, working in close partnership with the CEO and, where appropriate, the Board and external advisers.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy and Portfolio Construction

  • Maintain (and review when appropriate) the Investment Policy Statement (IPS), including strategic asset allocation, risk budget, liquidity profile, currency exposure, and benchmarks.
  • Translate the Company’s long-term objectives, return targets, and liquidity needs into a coherent multi-asset portfolio, rebalanced on a defined frequency.
  • Monitor macroeconomic, geopolitical, and market developments and translate them into actionable views on tactical positioning.

Public Markets

  • Oversee listed equity, fixed income, currency, and liquid alternative exposures across direct holdings and pooled vehicles (long-only and hedge funds).
  • Conduct primary research and review secondary research on portfolio companies, industry/sector and investable universe. Meet management of portfolio companies, review earnings releases, attend investor briefing.
  • Maintain a disciplined framework for portfolio positions, including thesis documentation, position sizing, and exit triggers.
  • Oversee trade execution and maintain relationships with stakeholders including brokers, equity research teams, custodians and banks.
  • Lead manager selection and ongoing review of public-market managers across strategies and asset classes.

Private Markets

  • Source, screen, and execute commitments to private equity, venture, private credit, real assets, and infrastructure funds, including primaries, secondaries, and co-investments.
  • Lead due diligence on direct investments and co-investments, including financial modelling, market feasibility, legal, structuring, and risk assessment. Establish and enforce a consistent due diligence framework.
  • Prepare investment memorandums for review by the CEO and Board/Investment Committee.
  • Negotiate fund documentation (LPAs, side letters, subscription agreements) in conjunction with external counsel, with attention to economic terms, governance rights, MFN, and transfer/exit mechanics. Coordinate with external counsel, tax advisers, custodians, and administrators on execution and structuring.
  • Manage commitment funding and cash flows.
  • Oversee private investments portfolio, set and track KPIs, engage with leadership teams and fund managers, drive value creation and exit initiatives.

Risk, Performance, and Reporting

  • Implement portfolio-level risk monitoring covering market, concentration, liquidity, counterparty, FX, and leverage risk.
  • Maintain look-through transparency across portfolio and structures, including consolidated NAV, currency, sector and geographic exposure, and cash-flow reporting.
  • Produce monthly and quarterly performance reports for the CEO, the Board/Investment
  • Committee and Shareholders with clear attribution against benchmarks and targets set.

Team Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and manage a team of investment analysts; set objectives, review deliverables, and develop talent.
  • Establish research processes, internal templates, and knowledge management practices to institutionalize the investment function.
  • Foster a culture of intellectual rigor, accountability and personal growth and development.

Governance and Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary investment interface with banks, custodians, brokers, fund managers, and advisers across jurisdictions.
  • Represent the Company at industry events, networking functions, on Limited Partner Advisory Committees (LPACs) and in manager interactions as appropriate.
  • Ensure adherence to internal governance, Company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 10-12+ years of relevant investment experience, with a track record across both public and private markets.
  • Demonstrated experience in fund management, discretionary portfolio management, equity research, selecting and monitoring external managers across asset classes, and leading direct or co-investment transactions.
  • Strong command of portfolio construction, valuation, and risk frameworks.
  • Familiarity with investment structures and tax, regulatory, and reporting considerations.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, actuarial science, or a related field; CFA, MBA, or equivalent strongly preferred.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills; comfortable interrogating portfolio companies’ management and performance, fund managers’ strategies and track records.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; able to produce concise, clear, decision-ready investment memos. Personable and able to speak with conviction at events and during meetings around senior investment professionals.
  • High level of autonomy required; comfortable operating in a principal-led environment with limited bureaucracy.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Pragmatic and commercially minded, with the judgment to balance conviction and opportunity against risk and liquidity constraints.
  • Collaborative leadership style - able to develop a small team and partner effectively with external advisers.

Compensation

Competitive base salary, annual performance bonus. Specific terms to be discussed with shortlisted
