Role Summary

The Brand Activation & Events Supervisor owns the day-to-day planning, coordination and field supervision of brand activations and events. The role manages Brand Ambassador recruitment, payroll processing and compliance, activation asset and inventory management, and event site logistics, and is the primary field presence gathering market and competitor intelligence to feed into the wider activation strategy.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Activation & Events Planner & Tracker: Weekly planning for activations & events, mapping it to a planner/schedule. This includes weekly samples requisition requests to facilitate brand activations.
  • Activations & Events Asset Management: Activation inventory management through monthly stock take & reporting to allow for proper planning of assets & mitigation planning.
  • Brand Ambassador Payroll Working & Processing: Weekly retrieval of Brand Ambassador Payroll workings, verification and validation compliance and 100% use of activation modules.
  • Brand Ambassador Recruitment: This involves Brand Ambassador selection for recruitment from available pools (universities etc.), interview scheduling, background checks & onboarding programs (brand immersion & site tours)
  • Competitor & Market Intelligence funnel: In dispensation of their duties conduct market visits, checking on execution, gathering market or competitor feedback and funnelling back to Brand & Commercial teams for planning & improvement of Trade Plans.
  • Events planning – In line with events schedule undertake site recce for events to check on site layout, asset requirements, stocking levels in preparedness for execution.
  • Brand Ambassador Supervision [Activations & Events]: day-to-day supervision of brand ambassadors through monitoring on SFA platform (check in/check out), attendance, attendance through a sample physical check in stores and checking execution of the activation picture of success.
  • Reporting: Weekly to Monthly reporting on Inventory Management (activation assets), Sales Validation Reports checks & Supervisor Reports.

Education Required

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in events, experiential marketing, activations, or field marketing execution.
  • Track record of end-to-end event delivery – briefing, conceptualisation, onsite build, and supplier management.
  • Experience managing agencies and third-party suppliers.
  • Computer literacy (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Superb time management and attention to detail.

Added Advantage

  • Experience in the FMCG or Alco-Bev sector.
  • Retail marketing experience with a B2C brand.
  • Previous brand activation or sponsorship experience at a mid-level.
