Role Summary
The Events & Activations Lead owns the end-to-end strategy, planning and performance of brand activations and events, setting activation standards and auditing field execution against them. The role manages the Brand Ambassador function (productivity, ROI and retention), translates market and competitor intelligence into recommendations for the Brand and Commercial teams, and owns the activations budget and asset base, reporting on investment versus sales performance
Roles and Responsibilities
- Brand Activations & Execution: Own & drive the Activation PICOS (overall), Activation Planning, Outlet selection & vetting and regular reporting internally with stakeholders.
- Activations Audits: Conduct periodic checks through a tight follow-up with supervisor, issue escalation and mitigation planning. Active tracking of Best Practices in activation execution as well as managing sample checks & balances.
- Planning & Execution of Events: Develop a weekly into monthly events planner and schedule, resource planning & reporting.
- Brand Ambassador Management: Individual will oversee Brand Ambassador Productivity, ensure a Positive Activations ROI and reward scheme for Brand Promoters to drive retention and boost productivity.
- Competitor & Market Intelligence funnel: In dispensation of their duties conduct market visits, checking on execution, gathering market or competitor feedback and funneling back to Brand & Commercial teams for planning & improvement of Trade Plans.
- Capability Building: Developing Brand Ambassador training schedule (Brand Immersion & Site Tours) as well as Sales capability training (sales card & simple selling steps)
- Activation Assets Management: Oversee activation assets management, audits and planning against activation cycle needs.
- Activation Validation: Management of stakeholders (Territory Managers & Area Managers) in ensuring activations are validated and sales verified for reporting and tracking against investments.
- Budget Tracking & Management: Activations budget management and tracking covering payroll validation, samples requisition validation as well as inventory/assets repairs.
Education Required
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in a trade marketing, brand activation, or field/experiential marketing role, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or team-leadership capacity.
- Experience working in the FMCG or Alco-Bev sector.
- Experience with on-trade and off-trade channels.
- Experience managing people.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to quickly build strong relationships.
- Excellent planning and organization skills with a high ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent data skills, comfortable with excel and able to solve complex problems.
- Discipline, passionate for executional excellence and commercial savvy.
