The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join S&S, a vertically integrated textile solutions provider based in Ruiru, Kenya, as our Production Planning Coordinator. In this mid-leadership role, you will be the critical link between business demand, manufacturing capacity, and material requirements—ensuring that production plans are integrated, executable, and aligned with business priorities. Reporting to the Head of Production, you will bring structure, visibility, and discipline to our planning processes, enabling us to manage increasing complexity arising from growth, product diversification, and manufacturing expansion. Core Responsibilities
- Integrated Production Planning: Translate demand requirements into realistic and executable production plans aligned with manufacturing capability and business priorities. Ensure production sequencing and scheduling support business objectives.
- Manufacturing Capacity Planning & Optimization: Ensure manufacturing capacity is effectively utilized and future constraints are identified and addressed proactively. Identify bottlenecks early and minimize production disruptions.
- Inventory & Material Planning Coordination: Ensure optimal material availability while supporting effective inventory management. Coordinate procurement planning and eliminate material-related interruptions to production.
- Planning Risk Identification & Resolution: Identify, evaluate, and coordinate resolution of planning risks before they impact business performance. Escalate critical constraints promptly and ensure leadership visibility of significant risks.
- Planning Governance & Performance Visibility: Establish planning discipline, accountability, and visibility across planning processes. Monitor performance against plan, investigate variances, and provide leadership with meaningful insights and recommendations.
Key Deliverables
- Executable Production Plans: Integrated production plans that support customer delivery requirements and are clearly communicated to all relevant teams.
- Optimized Capacity Utilization: Manufacturing capacity is optimized at all times, with constraints and bottlenecks identified and addressed proactively.
- Zero Material-Related Interruptions: Materials are available when required for production, with inventory shortages and excess exposure eliminated.
- Proactive Risk Management: Planning risks are identified early, with appropriate mitigation actions coordinated and escalated promptly.
- Performance Visibility & Accountability: Accurate and reliable planning information with variance analysis and corrective actions tracked; leadership receives meaningful planning insights and recommendations.
Key Decision-Making & Accountability
- Production Prioritization: Production sequencing; allocation of available manufacturing capacity; adjustment of production priorities in response to changing business requirements.
- Manufacturing Capacity Responses: Escalation of manufacturing constraints; recommendations regarding capacity utilization improvements and schedule adjustments required to meet demand.
- Planning Risk Escalation: Identification and escalation of significant planning risks; recommendation of mitigation actions; coordination of responses to emerging planning challenges.
- Inventory & Material Planning: Material replenishment requirements; inventory optimization actions; planning adjustments resulting from supply constraints or demand changes.

Key Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Statistics, or a related field.
- Must-Have Experience: 3–5 years' experience in production planning, inventory planning, supply chain, manufacturing operations, or related disciplines.
- Proven track record in manufacturing capacity planning and team coordination.
- Experience working with ERP/SAP systems and planning tools.
- Experience within vertically integrated textile manufacturing or similar manufacturing environments where cost, inventory control, and customer experience are critical. Exposure to resources and capacity optimization methodologies.
